To make a long story short: Fables is a creator-owned comic book series which started in 2002, based on public domain characters from folklore, fairy tales, etcetera.
- The Wolf Among Us by Telltale Games is based on the comic series.
- The creator, Bill Willingham, is putting the comic in the public domain, mostly because he's fed up with dealing with DC comics, who are unscrupulous and awful to do business with.
- DC is saying it's not a creator-owned comic series, and that he can't do that.
