Me and a few friends were discussing since earlier this year that we wanted to visit the Addis Jazz Festival in 2027 https://addisjazzfestival.com/ A few weeks ago - shortly after dates were announced for 2027 - three of us booked flights and hotels.
- However, now it looks like the civil war is not only back but heating up.
- There are also rumors that Eritrea has invaded Ethiopia.
- Context: If the festival was next week I'd cancel.
- If the war ends before mid-January or so, I'll probably go.
- I'd also go if the situation in and around Addis remains stable and safe.
