Envisioned as a monumental infrastructure initiative, the Gulf Railway seeks to link the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states through a comprehensive and efficient rail network.
- With plans to connect Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and potentially other neighboring countries, the railway holds the promise of facilitating the movement of goods and people, fostering economic growth, and reducing dependency on traditional modes of transportation.
- While initial estimates had suggested completion by the mid-2020s, factors such as intricate planning, technical challenges, and the evolving geopolitical landscape have led to some adjustments in the timeline.
- As of now, the estimated completion date of the Gulf Railway hovers around the late 2020s to the early 2030s, underscoring the complex nature of this transformative project and the determination to realize its immense potential.
