Sleepless AI is a Web3 and AI companion gaming platform whose first titles, HIM and HER, give players an AI-driven virtual boyfriend or girlfriend to chat with, dress and care for. AI is its BEP-20 token on BNB Chain, used for in-game purchases, discounts, governance and staking. It matters as one of the earlier attempts to combine large-language-model companions with a blockchain game economy, and it was selected as the 42nd project on Binance Launchpool.
Binance Research describes Sleepless AI as "a Web3+AI companion gaming platform" that aims to use AI and blockchain to innovate in gaming. In HIM and HER, each player receives a non-tradable soulbound token (SBT) representing their virtual companion. Players talk with the companion, change outfits and feed it, and the companion can act as a daily reminder, alarm clock or sleep companion. Gamified elements include outfit customization and player-versus-player battles.
The individual founders are not named in the sources we could open. Binance Research states that the studio behind the project was established in 2019 and had previous success in Web2 gaming, and lists Binance Labs (now YZi Labs), Foresight Ventures and Folius Ventures among its investors.

Most AI tokens focus on infrastructure, agents or compute. Sleepless AI focuses on emotional, companion-style consumer gameplay, and uses soulbound tokens so a player's companion stays tied to that player rather than becoming a tradable NFT. Its token is positioned as the economy and governance layer around the game rather than the companion itself.
Sleepless AI is an application token on BNB Chain, not a chain. Compared with MyShell, which is a platform for creating and sharing AI agents and apps, Sleepless AI is a single studio's companion game. Compared with Artificial Liquid Intelligence, which focuses on AI characters as tradable NFTs, Sleepless AI uses non-tradable SBTs. Compared with gaming platforms like Xterio, it concentrates on AI companionship rather than a broad game catalogue.
The AI token is a BEP-20 contract on BNB Chain, so transfers rely on BNB Chain's validator set. Game logic, AI dialogue and account data run off-chain on the studio's servers. We did not find a published smart contract audit or technical whitepaper on the official site, so users should treat the staking contract and game backend as trust-dependent.
Sleepless AI is an early example of consumer AI companions paired with a token economy and backed by a major exchange launch program. How its games retain players over time is a useful signal for whether AI companion gaming can sustain a token beyond launch.
AI was listed on Binance on 4 January 2024 following its Launchpool. It is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain (contract 0xbda011d7f8ec00f66c1923b049b94c67d148d8b2, viewable on BscScan) and may also trade on other centralized venues and decentralized exchanges on BNB Chain. Verify the contract address before trading, since the AI ticker is shared by other tokens.
