Both films open wide in US/Canada theaters on Friday, November 6, 2026: Warner Bros.' animated The Cat in the Hat, and Toho/GKIDS' Godzilla Minus Zero (the sequel to Godzilla Minus One).
- Resolves YES if The Cat in the Hat's domestic (US + Canada) 3-day opening weekend gross for Fri Nov 6 – Sun Nov 8, 2026 is higher than Godzilla Minus Zero's, using the weekend ACTUALS on Box Office Mojo (boxofficemojo.com).
- Resolves NO if Godzilla Minus Zero's is higher.
- Thursday previews count if Box Office Mojo folds them into the Friday/weekend total (it normally does).
- Weekend actuals are usually posted Monday Nov 9; I will wait for actuals, not Sunday estimates.
- If Box Office Mojo hasn't posted by Nov 11, I'll use The Numbers (the-numbers.com) weekend chart.
