Cross The Ages (CTA) is the token of a fantasy and science-fiction entertainment franchise whose best-known product is a free-to-play digital trading card game, playable on PC, Mac, Android and iOS since March 2023. The project matters because it tries to link a game economy to real-world assets: its whitepaper describes virtual land that corresponds to shares in real energy and industrial sites. CTA is the currency used across its games, for minting in-game items as NFTs and for charging "Mint Passes".
The Cross The Ages whitepaper describes the project as an intellectual property built from a mix of fantasy, science fiction and post-apocalyptic literature, set in a world called Artellium. The saga is planned to span 7 volumes over roughly 10 years, and the IP extends into books, video games, animation and collectibles. The official website is the hub for the games and the store.

The whitepaper's team page names Sami Chlagou as CEO and co-founder, described as having owned six international gaming studios since 2015, and Richard Esteve as co-founder, with a background in hedge fund management and M&A advisory. It also lists Quentin Giraud as CTO and Anthony Gerard as CPO. The project describes itself as a "Mission-Driven Company".
Key documented milestones: the first book volume, "La Rune & le Code", anchors the IP; the TCG launched in March 2023; the whitepaper records CTA presale pricing before and after March 29, 2023; and later card collections followed the first season, Arkhante (S01), including Mantris (S02), a limited Watch Dogs collection and Rift (S03).
Cross The Ages uses a two-currency economy plus a pass:

Game assets exist in three forms. Static assets stay off-chain and let players progress without wallet setup. Flex assets, obtained from the store or leaderboards, can be converted into NFTs. Eternal assets are the minted NFT versions. This lets new players start without crypto while keeping on-chain ownership optional.
In the TCG, players build 30-card decks and place one card per turn on a shared 4x4 board, capturing opponent cards over up to 16 turns. There is an Adventure mode against the computer and a ranked Arena mode.

Tokenomics: max supply 500 million CTA. Allocation: 27.6% private sale, 20% reserve and treasury, 13.8% seed, 10% founding team, 6% public sale, 5% presale, 5% presale community, 4.6% external team, 4% marketing and 4% advisors.
Two things stand out. First, the project started as a narrative IP with books and a long story arc, rather than as a token looking for a game. Second, its ReVerse design ties virtual land to real-world sites: the whitepaper says CTA Factory acquires sites with surplus green, "fatal" (such as gas flaring) or nuclear electricity capacity and supplies power to clients such as data centers, AI firms and Bitcoin miners, with dollar income converted into CTA for landowners under certain gameplay conditions.
Cross The Ages is a multichain game token, not a chain. Compared with Gods Unchained, another blockchain card game, it adds a book-based IP and a real-world asset layer. Compared with Splintershards, whose card game Splinterlands grew on the Hive chain, CTA spreads its token across Ethereum, Base and Solana. Its planned action RPG puts it closer to projects like Illuvium that span several game genres under one universe.
CTA's transfers are secured by the underlying networks: Ethereum's proof-of-stake validators, Base (an Ethereum layer 2) and Solana's proof-of-stake network. Contract activity can be checked on Etherscan, Basescan and Solscan. No smart contract audit is referenced in the whitepaper sections reviewed, so audit status should be treated as undocumented.
Cross The Ages combines a live cross-platform card game, a narrative franchise and a stated real-world asset model. Whether the energy-backed land model works in practice will be a meaningful test of the idea that game economies can be tied to productive real assets.
