Fabric Protocol is a coordination and payment layer for robots. Its premise is that as physical machines begin performing paid work, they need what human economic actors already have: a persistent identity, a way to be paid, a way to prove the work was done, and a way for the people who fund and supervise them to share in the result. ROBO is the token that pays for those functions and governs the network providing them.
Because ROBO is a heavily reused ticker, this page anchors on contracts. It describes the token deployed at 0x32b4d049fe4c888d2b92eecaf729f44df6b1f36e on Ethereum, 0x407a5fb66cb1b3d50004f7091c08a27b42ba6d6f on Base, and 0x475cbf5919608e0c6af00e7bf87fab83bf3ef6e2 on BNB Chain. A live read of each returns the name "Robo Token" and the symbol ROBO with 18 decimals.

Fabric is stewarded by the Fabric Foundation, a non-profit that positions itself as a neutral custodian of the protocol rather than as an operating company. The core technology traces to OpenMind, a robotics software company building OM1, a universal robot operating system it describes as an Android-style layer for robot hardware. OpenMind raised roughly twenty million dollars in a round led by Pantera Capital, with participation including Pebblebed, Ribbit Capital, and Coinbase Ventures.
The ROBO whitepaper was published in December 2025, and a public sale ran on the Kaito Capital launchpad in January 2026. The token generation event completed on February 27, 2026, when ROBO launched as the first "Titan" issuance on Virtuals Protocol, a tier reserved for teams with existing scale. Listings on Coinbase, Binance Alpha, Crypto.com, and KuCoin followed the same week.
Identity for machines Robots and the agents operating them hold on-chain identities, so ownership, permissions, and work history can be referenced by counterparties instead of living inside one company's database.
RoboPay Fabric describes RoboPay as payment rails for machines: the settlement path a robot uses to be paid for a task and to pay for the compute, data, and services it consumes. Named launch partners include Aethir, AEON, Kite AI, peaq, FLock, PrismaX, and Unibase.
Proof of Robotic Work Rewards are tied to verified physical activity rather than to passive holding. A machine completing a delivery, an inspection, or a logistics leg submits cryptographic evidence to the network, and rewards are issued against that evidence.
Stake to contribute Developers and businesses stake ROBO to build applications and access robot services, and staked amounts influence priority weighting when tasks are allocated. The Foundation states plainly that staking does not represent ownership or a right to revenue.
ROBO is used for:
Published distribution is 29.7% ecosystem and community, the bucket that funds Proof of Robotic Work; 24.3% investors on a 12-month cliff then 36-month linear vesting; 20.0% team and advisors on the same schedule; 18.0% foundation reserve; 5.0% community airdrops; 2.5% liquidity and launch; and 0.5% public sale. The Ethereum contract carries a fixed 10 billion total, and the Base and BNB Chain deployments are representations of that same token rather than independent supplies.
Compared with decentralized physical infrastructure networks that reward passive hardware deployment, Fabric's unit of value is a task that had to be performed. Compared with AI agent platforms whose agents act only in software, Fabric's participants have to move things in the physical world, which makes verification much harder. Compared with a general purpose smart contract chain, Fabric today is a token and protocol layer on existing networks, with an independent Layer 1 described as a future step rather than something delivered.
The token inherits the security of Ethereum, Base, and BNB Chain. Governance runs through Snapshot voting alongside a Foundation Security Council in its first phase, which means meaningful authority currently sits with the Foundation rather than with token holders alone. The harder question is verification: Proof of Robotic Work is only as sound as the evidence scheme behind it, and proving that a physical action occurred, in the right place, at the right time, without a trusted intermediary, remains an open research problem.
If autonomous machines become significant economic actors, they will need identity, payment, and proof of work performed, and it is not obvious that those layers should be owned by the companies manufacturing the robots. Fabric is one of the first serious attempts to place that infrastructure in a neutral, open network with a credible robotics software stack behind it.
ROBO trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized venues on Base. Availability and pairs vary by jurisdiction.

The three deployments share a name and symbol but are separate contracts, and sending to the wrong network can result in permanent loss.
