QANplatform is a project building a quantum-resistant Layer 1 blockchain that can run as either a public or a private network, with smart contracts written in ordinary programming languages rather than a chain-specific one.
The most important thing to understand first is sequencing. The QAN mainnet is not live. QANplatform's roadmap places the integration audit in progress and states that a mainnet date will be shared once the final code exits review. Its documentation says plainly that the token "will fulfill its functional value when the QAN public blockchain will be live." QANX therefore exists today as a token on other people's chains, not as a gas asset on a running Layer 1.
QANX is deployed at the same address on two networks, 0xAAA9214F675316182Eaa21C85f0Ca99160CC3AAA, as an ERC-20 on Ethereum and a BEP-20 on BNB Chain. Both read on-chain as name "QANX Token", symbol QANX, 18 decimals, with a total supply of 3,333,333,000 tokens each. Those are the contracts this page describes. An older QANX contract also exists on-chain, so verify the address above against QANplatform's documentation before interacting with any token bearing this ticker.

QANplatform traces its origin to a group that came together in 2019 around research by applied mathematicians, quantum researchers and software engineers. Johann Polecsak, the co-founder and chief technology officer, is the most visible figure and sets much of the project's public technical direction.
The build has been long and audit-driven rather than fast. The token contract was reviewed by Hacken and Omniscia, with reports published in February 2023, and the QANX bridge was audited by CertiK in October 2021. Testnet versions shipped with developer documentation and SDKs, the QAN Virtual Machine passed an audit in mid-2025, XLINK followed, and an integration audit covering the virtual machine, XLINK, RPC, database and governance has been the remaining gate before a mainnet date.
Two documentation details matter: the published whitepaper is marked obsolete by QANplatform itself and flagged for replacement, and the documentation states that the QANX bridge is not currently operating.
The design rests on four ideas:
Post-quantum signatures QANplatform uses ML-DSA, the lattice-based signature scheme standardized by NIST and derived from CRYSTALS-Dilithium, implemented in Go. The team chose this family before NIST finalized its recommendation.
XLINK cross-signing XLINK cross-signs accounts with a post-quantum scheme, providing a migration path for accounts secured by elliptic-curve cryptography if that cryptography is ever broken, rather than requiring users to move funds in advance.
Multi-language smart contracts The QAN Virtual Machine compiles contracts written in JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Rust, C, C++ and C#, with EVM compatibility alongside.
Hybrid public and private operation QANplatform is intended to work as a private chain in the style of Hyperledger or Corda and as a public chain, so an enterprise can keep some data private and anchor the rest publicly.
Consensus is where expectation and plan diverge, and QANplatform is unusually candid about it. Proof-of-Randomness is the long-term design, in which block proposers are elected in a verifiably random manner rather than by stake size, giving every validator who deposits QANX an equal chance and allowing validation on modest hardware such as a phone or a Raspberry Pi. The documentation calls Proof-of-Randomness highly experimental and states that the QAN mainnet will initially launch with Proof-of-Stake instead.
The components QANplatform documents are the QAN Virtual Machine, which executes multi-language smart contracts; XLINK, the cross-signing component carrying the quantum-resistance guarantee; QAN TestNet, the public testing environment; the QANX token contracts on Ethereum and BNB Chain with a bridge between them; developer tooling including the qvmctl utility and language SDKs; and QAN Private Blockchain for enterprise deployment.
QANplatform documents six functions, all of which apply on the future mainnet rather than today:
The royalty fee is the most distinctive: contract authors are meant to earn from usage of the code they publish, which is unusual as a protocol-level primitive.
Each deployed contract reports a fixed total supply of 3,333,333,000 QANX. The two deployments are designed to represent one asset connected by a bridge rather than two independent supplies, and QANplatform names the bridge allocation address 0x3E9d2bFEC755A2787431Dd56534226255F33A32a on both chains while stating that the bridge is not operating.
Compared with other Layer 1 networks:
Once the network is live, intended use cases include smart contracts and decentralized applications written in familiar languages, enterprise workflows needing selective privacy with public anchoring, long-lived records where a future quantum attack on elliptic-curve signatures would be damaging, institutional and central bank experiments where review favors standardized cryptography, and validation or full-node operation on low-cost hardware.
Security today and security later are different questions:
Points worth weighing:
Post-quantum security is a real problem for blockchains, because signatures published today are permanently visible and a future attacker gets unlimited time to work on them. QANplatform is one of the more deliberate attempts to address it, and its cross-signing migration idea is a thoughtful answer to what happens to accounts that were never upgraded. The counterweight is that the network remains unlaunched after years of development.
QANX trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized markets on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Availability and pairs vary by jurisdiction and venue.
QANX is commonly available on Gate, BitMart and BingX. On-chain it trades on Uniswap on Ethereum and PancakeSwap on BNB Chain.
After purchase, QANX can be held on an exchange account, which is custodial; in an EVM-compatible self-custody wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet on either network; or in a hardware wallet paired with compatible wallet software. Because the same address is used on two networks, confirm which network your tokens are on before sending, and add the token by contract address rather than by ticker search.
