OpenEden is a real-world asset tokenization business that issues onchain representations of regulated financial products, most notably TBILL, a token backed by short-dated US Treasury bills. EDEN is the utility and governance token of the surrounding ecosystem.
That distinction is the most important fact on this page. TBILL is a permissioned instrument issued by a regulated fund, open only to qualifying professional and accredited investors. EDEN is a freely traded utility token that carries no interest in the fund, no claim on its assets and no entitlement to its yield. EDEN's proposition is platform participation: staking, governance, fee discounts and early access to new products.
Official sources:
OpenEden was founded in 2022 by Jeremy Ng and Eugene Ng, who previously ran Gemini's Asia-Pacific business and regional business development respectively. OpenEden Pte. Ltd. is a fund management company registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
The TBILL Vault launched in early 2023, making OpenEden an early entrant in tokenized Treasuries. Its fund became the first tokenized US Treasury product to receive an investment-grade bond fund rating from Moody's, an "A-bf", and it also carries an AA+f/S1+ rating from S&P Global. The product line has since widened well beyond a single vault, and the EDEN token generation event took place on 30 September 2025.
The method is consistent across products: put the regulated structure in a licensed entity, keep the assets with a recognized manager and custodian, and expose economic interest as a token.
TBILL TBILL is an EIP-20 representation of an investor's economic interest in a professional fund registered under the British Virgin Islands Securities and Investment Business Act 2010 and regulated by the BVI Financial Services Commission. The Treasuries are managed by BNY Mellon Investment Management Singapore Pte. Limited, regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and custodied at BNY. Backing is one-to-one in short-dated US T-bills plus a small dollar buffer, with target weighted-average maturity under three months. Investors deposit USDC to mint and redeem.
Permissioning The vault is not open access. It serves Professional Investors as defined under BVI law and US Accredited Investors within the meaning of Rule 501(a) of Regulation D. Onboarding requires KYC documents and wallet screening, after which compliance whitelists the address onchain. TBILL is currently transferable only between whitelisted wallets.
USDO and cUSDO USDO is a yield-bearing stablecoin issued by OpenEden Digital, a Bermuda Monetary Authority licensed issuer, with reserves in US Treasury bills and reverse repurchase agreements. It holds a one-dollar target and rebases daily to pass yield to holders; cUSDO keeps a constant balance and appreciates in price instead, which suits protocols that dislike rebasing. Minting and redeeming requires non-US residency, KYC and a minimum initial purchase of 100,000 US dollars. USDO is on Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain.
PRISM and HYBOND PRISM is a synthetic multi-strategy yield token issued by OpenEden Digital as a Bermuda segregated accounts company, with strategy execution outsourced to Monarq Asset Management, a National Futures Association member registered with the CFTC as a commodity pool operator. Staked as xPRISM it accrues by price. HYBOND is an Ethereum ERC-20 giving onchain access to the BNY Global Short-Dated High Yield Bond Fund, with T+2 subscription, T+4 redemption, a 5 basis point redemption fee and a 1.00 percent annual management fee.
Total supply is 1,000,000,000 EDEN. The documented distribution is Ecosystem and Community 41.22 percent, Team and Advisors 20.00 percent, Investors 15.28 percent, Foundation 10.00 percent, Bills Airdrop 7.50 percent and Early Adopters 6.00 percent. Investors and the team are both subject to a minimum six-month cliff followed by linear vesting over 24 months.
Documented uses of EDEN:
xEDEN is the value-accruing form. Rewards accumulate inside the staking contract rather than being claimed manually, so one xEDEN starts equal to one EDEN and its redemption rate rises over time. Unstaking opens a seven-day window after which the EDEN can be claimed. OpenEden states that xEDEN rewards will increasingly be supplemented from protocol revenue while emissions taper.
Buybacks are an intention rather than a live mechanism. The documentation describes directing a portion of fees or treasury yield into open-market EDEN purchases and lists a burn variant as a planned use case explicitly marked as subject to legal review. Treat it as a plan, not a running program.
The tokenized Treasury market is now competitive. Compared with Ondo, which built a broad product suite and its own chain ambitions, OpenEden has stayed closer to fund issuance and stablecoins. Compared with synthetic-yield stablecoins such as Ethena's USDe, which derives yield from basis trades, USDO is backed by Treasuries and repos, a different risk profile entirely. The structural difference worth internalizing is access: several competitors offer retail-accessible wrappers, while OpenEden's flagship remains permissioned and institution-facing with a six-figure minimum on USDO minting. Its market is Web3 treasuries, DAOs and institutions, not individuals.
Security is split between code and legal structure. Onchain, the vault, oracle and KYC Manager contracts are published with addresses for each supported network, and permissioning is enforced by contract rather than by interface. Offchain, protection comes from the fund structure: a regulated issuer, a licensed investment manager, third-party custody, bankruptcy remoteness provisions documented for USDO and PRISM, and public transparency reporting. That second layer is valuable and genuinely different from crypto-native security: ultimate recourse runs through legal claims against regulated entities in the BVI, Bermuda or Singapore, not through code.
OpenEden is one of the clearer examples of tokenization done conservatively: a real fund, a real manager, a real custodian, real ratings, and permissioning enforced onchain rather than promised in a blog post. The Moody's rating was a milestone for the category because it applied a familiar credit framework to a tokenized instrument. For anyone assessing how institutional capital reaches public blockchains, OpenEden is a useful reference point, provided the token and the fund stay clearly separated.
EDEN trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized venues on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Availability and pairs vary by venue. Note again that buying EDEN is not a way to gain exposure to TBILL, USDO or the underlying Treasury portfolio; those have their own onboarding path through OpenEden's compliance process.
EDEN has been listed on venues including:
Common pairs include EDEN/USDT where supported. Confirm listing status with the exchange.
EDEN can be held:
EDEN uses different contract addresses on Ethereum and BNB Chain, so verify the network before any deposit or withdrawal. Remember that unstaking xEDEN opens a seven-day window before EDEN can be claimed.
