crow with knife (CAW) is a community memecoin that launched on the Cronos chain in 2024 and has since been bridged to several other networks. It has no protocol, product or cash flow behind it: its value rests entirely on community interest and meme culture. It is notable mainly as one of the most visible memecoins to come out of the Cronos ecosystem, and as an example of a meme token that expanded across chains through a bridge rather than launching separate copies.

CAW was launched by the Cro Crow community, a group known for an early NFT collection on Cronos. There is no named founding team or company, and the project presents itself as community-run. Public write-ups date the launch to March 2024.
The theme comes from Canuck, a crow in Vancouver, Canada, that became an internet figure after reports in 2016 that it picked up a knife at a police scene. The token borrows that story and imagery; it has no connection to the original news event.
After its Cronos launch, CAW was extended to other chains. The project announced a deployment on Stargate, the cross-chain bridge built on LayerZero, which lets the same token move between networks. Contracts now exist on Cronos, Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain.
