Doodles (DOOD) is the token of Doodles, a media and character brand that began as an Ethereum NFT collection in October 2021 and has since positioned itself as an entertainment company rather than an NFT project. DOOD is not a blockchain and not a protocol. It is an application token issued on Solana, intended to act as the unit of account inside Doodles products: rewards for participation, payment for cosmetic and collectible items, and a claim mechanism that distributed ownership to existing NFT holders.
The distinction matters when reading about it. Doodles the company owns intellectual property, publishes products, and signs commercial deals. DOOD the token is one instrument attached to that business. It does not confer equity, and the brand's commercial success and the token's design are related but separate things.
Official sources:
Doodles launched in October 2021 as a 10,000 piece generative NFT collection. The art came from Scott Martin, the Canadian illustrator who works as Burnt Toast, and the project was built with Evan Keast and Jordan Castro, both formerly of Dapper Labs.
In September 2022 the company raised a 54 million dollar funding round led by Seven Seven Six, and brought in former Billboard president Julian Holguin as chief executive. Pharrell Williams was announced as chief brand officer. The company has since released additional collections and tools, including the Dooplicator and the Genesis Box collection in 2022 and the Doodles 2 customization system.
Token distribution came much later. DOOD launched on Solana on May 9, 2025, distributed largely by claim to holders of the original Doodles, Dooplicators, and Genesis Boxes, with further allocations reserved for ecosystem growth, liquidity, the team, and the company under multi-year vesting. The token was listed by a major regulated US exchange in February 2026.
DOOD is an SPL token on Solana. A direct read of the mint account settles the supply question cleanly.
The mint reports 9 decimals, and both the mint authority and the freeze authority are set to null. That is the strongest form of the claim people usually make loosely. With a revoked mint authority, no party can create additional DOOD on Solana, by upgrade, by key compromise, or by governance. With a revoked freeze authority, no party can freeze an individual holder's account. The ten billion token figure is therefore genuinely enforced on Solana rather than merely promised.
The picture on BNB Chain is different, and this is the part worth knowing before bridging. The BNB Chain representation at 0x722294f6c97102fb0ddb5b907c8d16bdeab3f6d9 is an upgradeable proxy following the standard storage slot pattern. Its current implementation exposes mint(address,uint256), burn, burnFrom, and owner controlled administration, and it has no cap(). The BNB side is a bridge issued representation backed by the operator, not an independently capped supply. Treat the two as different risk objects even though they share a ticker.
Documented and announced uses center on:
Utility here is discretionary. It depends on the company continuing to ship products that accept the token. Where third party write-ups describe staking dividends or revenue share, treat those as unverified unless confirmed in Doodles' own materials, because the token is not a profit sharing instrument.
Three things, honestly assessed.
The IP is genuinely owned and genuinely recognizable, which is rarer than the category suggests. The company has consistently traded on art direction and character design rather than on financial mechanics. Its AI strategy is unusual in that it trained on its own catalog specifically so the outputs are licensable, which is a real commercial position rather than a slogan. And the token's Solana supply is verifiably fixed, which is not true of most tokens that describe themselves that way.
Compared with NFT brands that bolted a token onto an existing collection, Doodles waited roughly three and a half years and distributed by claim to the people already holding its NFTs, which changed who the initial holder base was.
Compared with virtual world and gaming tokens such as those behind The Sandbox or Decentraland, Doodles is not building a world you enter. It is building characters and stories it can license outward into media, merchandise, and other people's games. The token is closer to a consumer loyalty and content unit than to a platform's gas or governance asset.
Compared with Pudgy Penguins, the nearest peer, both are NFT native brands pushing into mainstream consumer distribution, and both issued tokens later in life. They differ in emphasis: one has leaned hard into physical retail, the other into content, AI tooling, and worldbuilding.
At the asset level, DOOD inherits Solana's security. It is a standard SPL token with a revoked mint authority and revoked freeze authority, which removes the two largest token level attack surfaces. Balances and transfers are auditable on Solscan.
At the product level, security is ordinary corporate security. Accounts, claim portals, marketplaces, and any custodial surface the company runs are conventional web infrastructure and carry conventional risks, including phishing against holders. The bridged BNB Chain representation adds an additional trust assumption, since it is mintable by its operator behind an upgradeable proxy.
Doodles is one of the clearest tests of whether an NFT native brand can become a durable consumer IP company. It has real art direction, real funding, real leadership hires, and a token whose core supply property can be verified on chain in a few seconds. Whether the entertainment thesis works is unsettled, but the project is a useful reference point for how brand led tokens are structured.
DOOD trades on centralized exchanges and on Solana decentralized exchanges. It gained access to a major regulated US venue in early 2026, which broadened availability. Listings, pairs, and regional eligibility differ by venue.
DOOD has commonly been available on:
Pairs are typically quoted against USDT or USD. Confirm with the venue directly.
Always confirm the network and the exact mint address before depositing. A token with the same name on the wrong chain is a different asset.
