WOO is the token of WOO Network, a trading and liquidity ecosystem that started as an institutional liquidity provider and is now built around on-chain products and AI-assisted trading. Holders stake WOO to receive a share of protocol revenue paid in USDC, to earn trading fee benefits, and to vote on network direction.
The project has changed shape more than once, and two facts matter when reading older material. The token contract on Ethereum still carries the original name Wootrade Network, which is why some data sources and URLs use the wootrade identifier. And in October 2025, FusionX Digital announced it would become the new operator of WOO X, the centralized exchange, allowing the WOO team to concentrate on DeFi and AI while the token remains governed independently by a foundation overseeing WOOFi.
Official sources:
WOO Network began in June 2019 as Wootrade, incubated by Kronos Research, a quantitative trading firm founded in 2018 that specializes in arbitrage and high-frequency strategies. Jack Tan and Mark Pimentel co-founded both. Tan traded equities from his teens, studied at Carnegie Mellon, and spent more than a decade at BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank. Pimentel also studied at Carnegie Mellon and began his career in Citadel's high-frequency trading unit in 2006.
Early seed backing came from HashKey Capital, Fenbushi Capital, SNZ, and DFund, with Kronos Research acting as the initial liquidity provider. The original pitch was straightforward: crypto liquidity was fragmented across venues, and a professional market maker could pipe deep institutional liquidity into smaller platforms.
From that base the network expanded into a centralized exchange, WOO X, and then into on-chain products under the WOOFi brand. The current phase moves the center of gravity on-chain and toward AI-assisted trading, with the centralized venue passing to a separate operator in 2025.
The system has three moving parts worth understanding separately.
sPMM, the on-chain market-making engine WOOFi swaps use Synthetic Proactive Market Making, an algorithm that works with high-frequency on-chain oracles to reproduce the price, spread, and depth of a centralized order book on chain. Rather than one pool per pair, WOOFi uses a singleton pool holding multiple base tokens against a single quote token, and it auto-rebalances by quoting more favorably to traders who supply assets the pool is short of. The stated aim is high capital efficiency, meaning more volume supported per unit of liquidity than a constant-product AMM.
Revenue routing to the token Protocol income is split, with the published allocation directing 40 percent to stakers, 40 percent to buybacks and burns, and 20 percent to foundation expenses. Since June 2024, an amount of WOO equal to what is bought back for staking rewards is burned monthly. On the WOOFi side, 80 percent of net revenue from swaps and perpetuals is streamed to stakers continuously and paid in USDC.
Omnichain staking Users stake WOO on any supported chain, and positions, XP, and rewards are consolidated on Arbitrum through a LayerZero integration, so the yield is the same regardless of where you stake. Stakers earn XP at a base rate that increases staking weight, can complete quests for booster NFTs, and face no hard lockup, though unstaking burns a proportional share of accumulated XP.
WOO was issued with a maximum supply of 3 billion tokens and the project describes it as having no ongoing inflation, so value accrual is meant to come from usage rather than emissions. A governance proposal to permanently burn roughly 300 million locked tokens, about 15 percent of the maximum, has gone to a vote, which would further reduce the ceiling if executed. WOO is distributed omnichain, with deployments across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Base, Linea, Mantle, zkSync, Fantom, NEAR, and Solana.
WOO is one of the few DeFi tokens attached to a protocol that started as a professional market maker rather than as a retail application. That heritage shows in sPMM, which tries to import order-book pricing behavior on chain instead of accepting AMM slippage, and in the broker rebate model, where WOOFi returns 20 percent of its swap fee in USDC to wallets, apps, and aggregators that route order flow to it. Paying for order flow is standard in traditional markets and rare among decentralized exchanges.
Against automated market makers such as Uniswap, WOOFi replaces the constant-product curve with an oracle-driven synthetic order book, aiming for better execution on major pairs at lower total value locked. Against perpetuals venues such as Hyperliquid or dYdX, WOOFi Pro is one product inside a broader stack that also includes spot swaps, yield vaults, and staking, rather than a purpose-built derivatives chain. Against typical exchange tokens, WOO's claim rests on direct revenue distribution in USDC plus buybacks, rather than on discounts alone.
WOO is an ERC-20 style token deployed across many chains, so token-level security depends on each chain's consensus and on the bridge or messaging layer connecting them, in this case LayerZero for staking consolidation on Arbitrum. Protocol security depends on the correctness of the WOOFi contracts, on the integrity of the high-frequency oracles that sPMM relies on for pricing, and on the operational discipline of the market makers supplying liquidity. Oracle-dependent pricing is a genuine attack surface, since a manipulated or stale feed can be exploited directly against the pool.
WOO is a useful case study in a token trying to earn its value from measurable protocol revenue rather than from narrative. The USDC revenue stream, the published split between stakers, buybacks, and the foundation, and the monthly burn give a reader something concrete to evaluate. Its move from centralized venue toward on-chain products and AI-assisted trading also tracks a broader shift in how trading infrastructure is being rebuilt.
WOO trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized venues including WOOFi itself, with availability and pairs depending on jurisdiction. Because the token is deployed on many chains, confirm which network a venue uses for withdrawals.

Always confirm the network and contract address before deposits or withdrawals, since the same ticker exists on many chains at different addresses.
