Pitbull is a memecoin on BNB Chain. It launched on March 17, 2021 with a reflection style contract and is best understood as a community experiment rather than a product. There is no revenue, no treasury and no business model. What exists is a token contract with fixed rules, a volunteer community, and a set of small tools built around it.
The project describes itself as "100% community-driven and managed by volunteers," with no developer, team or marketing wallets. Two of its central claims are verifiable on chain, and one needs a correction most write-ups get wrong. Every mechanical statement below is anchored on a direct read of the contract at 0xA57ac35Ce91EE92CaEfAA8dc04140C8e232c2E50.
Official sources:
The original developer is not publicly identified, and the project states that contract ownership was renounced at creation and that liquidity was burned. That is the foundation of the project's identity: because nobody controls the contract, no team can change the rules, and equally no team can fix anything.
Since launch the project has been run by volunteer administrators. The site lists them by handle, with hierarchy described as based on the length and quality of support provided over time.
PIT is a SafeMoon era reflection token built on the widely copied RFI design, and its behavior follows from that design rather than any custom logic.
A fee on every transfer Reading the contract on September 12, 2026 returns a tax fee of 2 and a liquidity fee of 2. The project describes these as 2 percent redistributed to holders and 2 percent sent to the dead address per transaction.
Reflection accounting Redistribution is not paid out as individual transfers. The contract tracks balances through a reflection ratio, exposed as reflectionFromToken and tokenFromReflection, so every non excluded holder's balance grows automatically as fees accrue. The cumulative amount redistributed this way is readable through totalFees.
A per transaction ceiling The contract enforces a maximum transaction amount of 500,000,000,000,000 PIT, 0.5 percent of the amount minted at deployment. This was a common anti dump measure in 2021 designs and it still applies.
Automatic liquidity handling The swap and liquify flag reads true, so the contract periodically converts accumulated fee tokens through the PancakeSwap router.
Memecoins do not have utility in the sense that an infrastructure token does. The reflection mechanism redistributes value between holders and traders; it does not create it.
Longevity and genuine ownerlessness. Reading owner on the contract returns the dead address, so ownership was not merely renounced to a null value but transferred to an address nobody holds keys for. The consequence is concrete: setTaxFeePercent, excludeFromReward, excludeFromFee and the other administrative functions are permanently unreachable. The fee structure cannot be changed and no operator can turn anything off.
Pitbull is a token on BNB Chain, not a chain of its own, so the comparison set is other memecoins. Against Shiba Inu, which built a Layer 2 and a product suite around its token, Pitbull deliberately built nothing that requires a company. Against Baby Doge Coin and Kishu Inu, which use similar reflection mechanics, the distinguishing feature is the fully renounced owner and the absence of team wallets. Against Dogecoin, which has a mining network and an inflationary issuance schedule, Pitbull has neither: its supply was fixed at deployment and no new tokens can be created.
PIT inherits BNB Chain's consensus security for settlement. At the contract level, security comes from immutability rather than active management: with ownership at the dead address, the code cannot be modified, upgraded or paused, and there is no proxy. TechRate reviewed the contract, and its report remains published in a public audit repository.
The corollary is that there is no recourse: an immutable contract with no owner cannot be patched if a flaw is found.
Pitbull is one of the cleaner surviving examples of the 2021 reflection token wave, and a useful reference for how to read that design. It also illustrates a distinction that matters far beyond memecoins: a token sitting at a dead address and a token removed from supply are not the same thing, though almost every source treats them as interchangeable.
PIT trades on decentralized venues on BNB Chain, principally PancakeSwap, and on a number of smaller centralized exchanges. On chain purchases require BNB for gas, and because the contract charges a fee on every transfer, swaps need slippage tolerance set high enough to accommodate it.
PIT has been listed on a range of smaller venues over time, and availability changes frequently. The project maintains its own swap interface at PitSwap for trading BNB into PIT on chain. Before using any centralized venue, confirm that the listed contract address matches the official one.
Add the token manually using the verified contract address, and confirm you are on BNB Chain rather than Ethereum before any transfer. Reflection balances accrue in self custody as well as on exchanges, except where an address has been excluded from rewards.
