MOBOX is a BNB Chain project that began in 2021 as a free-to-play, play-to-earn gaming platform combining DeFi yield farming with gaming NFTs called MOMOs. MBOX is its token, used for rewards, governance, in-game spending and a vote-escrowed version called veMBOX. In April 2025 MOBOX announced a pivot to "Gamified De-Sci" (decentralized science) built around health data, and in June 2026 Binance announced it would delist MBOX. The official site currently shows only a page for withdrawing matured veMBOX positions.
Fair launch (2021) MOBOX launched on BNB Chain in August 2021 as what Binance Research describes as a "fair launch project with no pre-sale, no investors, and no pre-mine". The team is described as having more than 10 years of social gaming experience, but individual founders are not named in the sources reviewed here.
Backing and growth Binance Labs made a strategic investment in MOBOX in November 2021. The team says it went on to build more than 10 game titles.
User-generated content era MOBOX later launched Dragonverse Neo, an open world where players could create game content, and ran it in seasons through 2025 (Season 24 began on October 31, 2025).
De-Sci pivot (2025 onward) On April 24, 2025, MOBOX announced a pivot to Gamified De-Sci with "The Box", a health-data ecosystem. The Box Genesis, its first season, ran from January 20 to January 30, 2026, and asked users to upload health checkup reports to create a personal health avatar.
Binance delisting (2026) On June 5, 2026, Binance announced it would delist MBOX along with three other tokens, with trading ending on June 19, 2026 at 03:00 UTC. Binance cited its general review criteria and did not give token-specific reasons.
MOBOX runs as smart contracts on BNB Chain, and the token also has a deployment on Arbitrum. The original model let users stake liquidity-pool tokens to farm MBOX, use MBOX to open mystery boxes containing MOMO NFTs, then stake those MOMOs for additional rewards or use them across several games. Locking MBOX produces veMBOX, which boosted rewards and later determined eligibility and multipliers in Dragonverse Neo and The Box.
According to Binance Research, MBOX is used as an in-game currency, for governance, as liquidity mining rewards and to access NFT mystery boxes. Its maximum supply is 930,360,086 MBOX, with an initial allocation of 20% team, 8% strategic partners, 21% marketing and 51% distributed through gameplay. The project also described a buyback-and-burn program funded by 80% of profits.
With the De-Sci pivot, MOBOX said MBOX would become the primary payment tool for The Box, including hardware purchases, and that holders of MBOX and veMBOX would get priority access, revenue sharing and research opportunities.
MOBOX's early distinctive feature was NFT interoperability: MOMOs could be used in several games at once, and the platform supported NFTs from other projects inside its games. Its later move from games into health-data "De-Sci" is an unusual pivot for a GameFi token and changes what MBOX is meant to be used for.
MOBOX is an application on BNB Chain, not a separate blockchain. Compared with Axie Infinity, which launched its own Ronin chain, MOBOX stayed on existing chains (BNB Chain and Arbitrum). Compared with other BNB Chain GameFi projects such as BinaryX, MOBOX leaned more heavily on farming and NFT staking, then on seasonal UGC gameplay, before shifting to De-Sci.
MBOX is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain (contract 0x3203c9e46ca618c8c1ce5dc67e7e9d75f5da2377, viewable on BscScan), with an Arbitrum deployment at 0xda661fa59320b808c5a6d23579fcfedf1fd3cf36 (Arbiscan). Security therefore depends on those networks' validators plus the correctness of MOBOX's own farming, NFT and veMBOX contracts. We could not confirm published audit reports from the current official site.
MOBOX was one of the better-known BNB Chain GameFi platforms of the 2021 cycle and shows how such projects have tried to reinvent themselves as play-to-earn demand faded. For current holders, the practical issues are veMBOX withdrawals, exchange availability and whether the De-Sci direction gains traction.
After the Binance delisting, MBOX trades on decentralized venues on BNB Chain and may remain listed on some centralized exchanges. Confirm any listing on the exchange's own site, and check the contract address before swapping on a DEX.
MBOX can be held in any wallet that supports BNB Chain or Arbitrum tokens, such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet, and in hardware wallets used through those interfaces. Holders with locked veMBOX should use the official MOBOX site to withdraw matured positions.
