Superform is a cross-chain yield and savings protocol. It lets a depositor put a single asset into a vault and have that capital routed programmatically into yield sources spread across several blockchains, without the depositor having to bridge, approve, and manage positions on each chain individually. The team describes the current product as a user-owned neobank, but the substance underneath is a vault standard, an execution layer, and an attestation network.
UP is the protocol's ownership and governance token. Staking UP produces sUP, which carries voting power over vault parameters, asset weights, and economic configuration, and is planned to back validator bonding in later phases.
Official sources:
Superform Labs built the first version of the protocol as a cross-chain router for ERC-4626 vaults, letting a user deposit on one chain into a vault living on another. In December 2024 the team announced a reported 3 million dollar round led by VanEck Ventures to build SuperVaults, an actively managed layer on top of that routing.
Superform v2 followed, rebuilding the product around ERC-7540 asynchronous vaults and adding a validator set for pricing. The UP token generation event took place on February 10, 2026, with an airdrop allocation distributed against snapshots taken in December 2025 and January 2026. Public information about the founding team is thinner than for most protocols of comparable size, and named individual founders are not prominently documented in the project's own materials.
Superform separates the parts of yield management that usually get bundled together into one opaque contract.
Asynchronous vaults SuperVaults implement ERC-7540, the asynchronous extension of the ERC-4626 vault standard. A depositor submits a request rather than an instant swap, which lets the vault settle deposits and redemptions across chains without needing instant liquidity for every exit.
Custody separation Deposited funds stay in the vault contract. Operators direct strategy but never hold user assets in their own wallets, which is the single most important structural difference from a managed fund.
Merkle-gated execution The actions an operator can take are restricted by a double-Merkle allowlist and blocklist of approved hooks. A manager can only execute pre-approved operations, so a compromised manager key has a bounded blast radius.
Validator-attested pricing A validator set computes each vault's price per share, signs EIP-712 attestations, and a supermajority quorum is required before an update is accepted. Updates are additionally checked for staleness and for deviation outside configured bounds.
Account abstraction and bundling Smart accounts based on Nexus, together with SuperExecutor, SuperDestinationExecutor and SuperBundler contracts, let a user authorize a multi-step cross-chain action with a single signature.
UP is used for:
Documentation presents these as phased. Governance and staking are live capability; the validator bonding and bundler phases are described as roadmap, so they should be read as intent rather than as shipped function.
Two things stand out. First, the validator-attested price per share is unusual: most vault products let the manager or a single oracle set the share price, which is exactly where mispricing and extraction happen. Requiring a signed supermajority with staleness and deviation checks is a meaningfully stronger design.
Second, the hook allowlist inverts the normal trust model. Instead of trusting an operator not to do something harmful, the protocol enumerates in advance what the operator is allowed to do at all. Combined with funds never leaving the vault contract, that limits what a compromised operator can achieve.
Superform is best understood as an allocation and execution layer sitting above those primitives, not as a new lending or yield primitive itself.
Protocol security rests on the role separation described above: managers execute only pre-approved hooks, validators attest to pricing under quorum, guardians can pause, and sensitive parameter changes pass through timelocks. Yield sources are limited to ERC-4626 vaults such as Morpho, Aave and Euler and to Pendle principal tokens, so vault risk inherits the risk of those underlying protocols.
The token contract deserves its own paragraph, because the commonly repeated description of UP as having a fixed maximum supply of one billion is not what the contract enforces. Read on September 11, 2026, the Ethereum UP contract at 0x1D926bbE67425C9F507b9A0E8030eEdc7880BF33 is a directly deployed ERC-20 with no EIP-1967 proxy pointer, 18 decimals, and an issued total of exactly 1,000,000,000 units. It exposes no cap() function. It does expose a live mint(address,uint256) function, confirmed by calling it from an unprivileged address and receiving an OwnableUnauthorizedAccount revert rather than the empty revert an absent function produces. In other words, minting is owner-gated, not disabled. There is also no burn(uint256) entry point. The one billion figure is therefore a policy backed by whoever controls the owner address, not a supply ceiling written into the code.
UP is additionally deployed as a LayerZero omnichain fungible token on Base at 0x5b2193fdc451c1f847be09ca9d13a4bf60f8c86b and on HyperEVM at 0x642fFC3496AcA19106BAB7A42F1F221a329654fe. Because those are cross-chain representations of the same asset, per-chain total supply readings should not be added together.
Cross-chain yield is one of the least solved problems in DeFi: capital fragments across networks and most users end up either idle on one chain or manually juggling positions. Superform is one of the more serious attempts to make that allocation automatic while keeping custody on chain and pricing independently attested. Whether or not the token accrues value, the architecture is a useful reference for how vault products can bound operator power.
UP trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized venues on the chains where it is deployed. Availability and pairs vary by jurisdiction. On a decentralized venue, verify the exact contract address for the chain you are trading on before you swap.
UP has been listed on venues including:
Listings and pairs change, so confirm current availability on the exchange itself.
UP can be held:
Check which chain your UP sits on before sending, and never send an omnichain token to an address on a network where it is not deployed.
