Pluton (PLU) is the original loyalty rewards token of Plutus, a UK-based app and debit card that pays cashback on everyday spending. For years PLU was how Plutus cardholders were rewarded; since 2025 it has become a fixed-supply "Rare PLU" asset that holders keep in their own wallets to unlock reward tiers, while day-to-day cashback has moved to a separate points system. That shift is the key thing to understand about PLU today.
Pluton is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum (Etherscan) tied to the Plutus rewards platform. Plutus offers a free virtual card (with an optional physical card) and says members earn 3% to 9% back on spending, depending on their loyalty level, plus monthly perks at partner brands such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.
PLU's role changed in 2025. Plutus stopped issuing new PLU, rebranded self-custodied PLU as "Rare PLU", and introduced Dynamic Rewards and PLUS points for ongoing cashback. PLU is now primarily a stacking asset rather than a spending reward.
