PinLink is an Ethereum-based protocol that turns physical computing infrastructure, such as GPUs, CPUs, TPUs and cloud storage, into tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) that can be owned in fractions and rented out to AI developers. PIN is its ERC-20 token, used to pay for rented capacity and to earn staking rewards. The project matters because it sits where two crypto sectors meet: decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), which pay hardware owners to share capacity, and RWA tokenization, which lets people buy a share of an income-producing asset without owning the whole machine.
The project describes itself as an RWA-tokenized DePIN platform. In practice, that means a hardware owner can earn rental income from a device and also sell part of the future income stream to other people.
The official website and documentation that we reviewed do not name the founding team, so the people behind PinLink should be treated as undocumented in public sources. The project's documentation lays out a staged roll-out: in Stage 1 only protocol-owned DePIN assets are accepted on the PinLink marketplace, and Stage 2 opens the network to third-party asset owners who want to connect their own devices. Beyond the main docs, the team has published two additional whitepapers: one for RWA-2055, a hybrid tokenization standard for real-world assets, and one for Pinance, described as a universal DEX for RWAs.
The documentation walks through a simple flow:
An asset owner connects a device (for example a GPU) to the PinLink network. An RWA token using the ERC-1155 standard is minted to represent that asset, and ownership is transferred to the owner.
The owner can sell fractions of that ERC-1155 token. Buyers of those fractions earn a proportional share of the income the hardware generates, so one machine can have several part-owners.
AI developers rent the capacity and pay a Service User Rental Fee in PIN. That rental revenue is split proportionally between the fractional holders of the RWA token.
PinLink says it will initially focus on GPU, CPU, TPU and cloud storage capacity for AI developers, then expand to other user groups such as blockchain miners and dApp developers.
According to the official tokenomics page, PIN has a total supply of 100,000,000 tokens. The documented allocation is 80% added to Uniswap liquidity, 10% reserved for staking rewards (vested over 24 months) and 10% held by the treasury for exchange listings and partnerships.
The token has two main jobs. First, it is the payment currency for DePIN output: developers acquire PIN to rent capacity. Second, it can be staked. The revenue model lists three fee sources: a 2% platform fee on Pinshop purchases (paid in PIN), a 2% fee on RWA ERC-1155 sales, and a 20% fee on yields generated by the Service User Rebate Fund.
Most DePIN networks reward device owners with tokens for supplying capacity. PinLink adds a second layer: the device itself becomes a tradable, fractional asset. A hardware owner can raise money up front by selling part of the income stream, while buyers get exposure to compute rental income without buying or running hardware.
PinLink is not a blockchain; it is an application running on Ethereum. Compute networks such as io.net, Akash Network and Render focus on matching supply and demand for compute. PinLink's emphasis is on the ownership layer: tokenizing the machines and splitting their rental income. RWA platforms such as Centrifuge tokenize credit and financial assets, while PinLink applies the same idea to computing hardware.
PIN is a standard ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so transfers inherit Ethereum's proof-of-stake security. The value of an RWA fraction, however, depends on something off-chain: the hardware actually running and being rented. The documentation describes an asset-vetting process and a first stage limited to protocol-owned assets, which reduces the risk of unreliable third-party devices early on. The pages we reviewed do not list public smart contract audits, so readers should look for audit reports before depositing significant funds.
AI workloads need large amounts of compute, and much of that hardware is owned by individuals and small operators. PinLink is one attempt to make that hardware financeable on-chain, by letting owners sell future rental income and letting smaller buyers participate. Whether the model works depends on real rental demand, which makes it a useful case study for how DePIN and RWA ideas combine.
PIN is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Its main liquidity was seeded on Uniswap, a decentralized exchange, and it also trades on centralized exchanges. Always confirm the official contract address (0x2e44f3f609ff5aa4819b323fd74690f07c3607c4) on Etherscan before trading, because copycat tokens are common.

Because PIN is a standard ERC-20 token, it can be held in any Ethereum-compatible wallet such as MetaMask or a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor. Tokens that are staked or used for rentals are held in the protocol's smart contracts, so review the terms before locking them.
