Naoris Protocol is a cybersecurity network built as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that uses post-quantum cryptography from genesis. Instead of treating security as software you install on a device, it treats every participating device as a validator that continuously proves its own security posture to the rest of the network, so a compromised machine can be detected and isolated by its peers rather than by a central console.
Two current facts should be established up front. First, the project renamed itself NaoX Protocol on July 19, 2026, moving its primary site to naox.org, while keeping the same protocol and the same NAORIS ticker. Older material referring to Naoris Protocol describes the same network. Second, mainnet went live on April 1, 2026, after a long testnet phase, so this is a young production network rather than a mature one.
Official sources:
Naoris was founded by David Carvalho, who serves as chief executive and chief scientist and has a background in enterprise and national-scale cybersecurity. The leadership team also names David Holtzman as chief strategy officer and Sumit Chauhan as founding chief technology officer.
The project raised 11.5 million dollars in a round announced in July 2022, led by Tim Draper's Draper Associates alongside Holt Xchange, the Holdun Family Office, the Holdun Opportunity Fund, Brendan Holt Dunn, Level One Robotics, SDC Management, Uniera, Expert Dojo, and a group of angel investors. The stated purpose of that round was to build out a decentralized proof-of-security consensus mechanism.
The token generation event took place on July 31, 2025, with roughly 599 million NAORIS, about 15 percent of the total, unlocked at launch. Mainnet followed on April 1, 2026. At mainnet the project cited testnet figures including more than one million security nodes activated, over 3.3 million wallets created, more than 106 million post-quantum transactions processed, and more than 603 million threats reported as detected or mitigated. Those are project-reported numbers from a permissioned testing phase and should be read as such.
The design has three layers that are easier to understand separately than together.
Post-quantum signatures at the base Transactions are signed using NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptography rather than the elliptic curve signatures most chains use. The project cites FIPS 204, the ML-DSA standard derived from CRYSTALS-Dilithium, at Security Level 5, which is the highest parameter set in that standard. The goal is that signatures remain valid even if a cryptographically relevant quantum computer eventually breaks ECDSA.
dPoSec consensus Decentralized Proof of Security is the project's consensus and attestation model. Rather than validating only transaction ordering, participating nodes also exchange and verify claims about each other's security state, so trust between machines is established continuously rather than assumed at enrollment.
The Sub-Zero Layer The project describes itself as operating beneath an organization's existing security stack rather than replacing it. Devices, servers, and endpoints run an agent, join the mesh, and keep their existing tools in place. The intent is adoption without rip-and-replace, which matters for enterprise and government buyers.
Because the chain is EVM compatible, existing Solidity contracts and standard tooling work against it, which lowers the cost of building on a network whose main differentiator sits below the application layer.
NAORIS has a documented total supply of 4 billion tokens. That figure is consistent with the on-chain issuance of the ERC-20 contract at 0x1b379A79c91a540b2bcd612b4d713f31De1b80cc, which reports the name Naoris Protocol and 18 decimals. The same address is used on BNB Chain, so a balance you see on one network is not automatically the same balance on the other. The distribution described by the project weights the largest share toward community incentives, node participation, and staking rewards, with a further 20 percent reserved for core contributors. Unlock schedules matter here, and interested readers should check current vesting documentation directly.
Most chains treat quantum resistance as a future migration problem and most security products treat the endpoint as something to be watched by a central authority. Naoris inverts both. It is one of the few Layer 1 networks built on standardized post-quantum signatures from genesis rather than retrofitted, and its consensus is designed to carry security attestations rather than only payments. Whether the mesh model works at enterprise scale is the open question, but the combination is genuinely unusual.
Against general-purpose Layer 1s, the differentiator is not throughput or fees but cryptographic posture and the device attestation layer. Against other quantum-resistant projects, Naoris is EVM compatible, which lets it reuse the Ethereum developer ecosystem rather than asking builders to learn a new environment. Against DePIN networks, the resource being contributed is verified security state rather than storage, bandwidth, or compute. Comparisons should therefore be made on the specific dimension of interest rather than on a single leaderboard.
Security depends on the quality of the post-quantum implementation, on the size and independence of the validator set, and on the integrity of the attestation agents running on participating devices. Post-quantum signature schemes are standardized but comparatively new in production, so implementation bugs are a live concern in a way they are not for well-worn elliptic curve libraries. The project maintains public repositories under the Naoris-Protocol organization, including a token contract and a fork of go-ethereum, which allows some independent inspection.
If cryptographically relevant quantum computers arrive, every chain relying on elliptic curve signatures faces a migration problem that is easier to describe than to execute. Naoris is one of the few networks attempting to answer that question by building on standardized post-quantum cryptography from the start rather than planning a later hard fork. Its second bet, that device security is better established through peer attestation than through a central console, is a separate idea that would be interesting even without the quantum framing.
NAORIS is listed on centralized exchanges, with availability and trading pairs varying by venue and jurisdiction. Because the token exists on both Ethereum and BNB Chain at the same address, confirm which network a withdrawal will use before moving funds.
NAORIS has been available on venues including:
Listings change over time, so verify current support on the venue itself.
Always verify the network and contract address before deposits or withdrawals, since the same address exists on more than one chain.
