JasmyCoin is the token of a Japanese Internet of Things platform built by Jasmy Incorporated, a Tokyo company whose software stores and controls device-generated personal data. Jasmy calls this data democracy: your device data should sit in storage you control and be released only with consent. JASMY began as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and is now also the gas token of JasmyChain, an Ethereum Layer 2 whose mainnet migration Jasmy announced in January 2026.
Official resources:
Jasmy Incorporated was established on April 5, 2016 in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Its corporate profile lists Kazumasa Sato as representative director alongside Kunitake Ando, the former president of Sony Corporation, and Hiroshi Harada as director and chief financial officer. The token listed in Japan in 2021 on an exchange registered under the Payment Services Act.
The platform keeps actual data off chain. The Personal Data Locker stores files in decentralized storage while writing only hash values on chain, so the blockchain acts as a tamper-evident index and permission record, not a data store.
JASMY is an ERC-20 contract on Ethereum at 0x7420b4b9a0110cdc71fb720908340c03f9bc03ec. JasmyChain is a Layer 2 rollup built with the Arbitrum Nitro stack under the Arbitrum Orbit framework, which lets any ERC-20 be designated a chain's gas token. Jasmy used that to make JASMY the currency for all JasmyChain fees. The chain is EVM compatible and runs as chain ID 680.
The whitepaper originally described JASMY only as a general-purpose transfer token. That has since narrowed. The clearest use today is gas: every JasmyChain transaction is paid in JASMY, tying fee demand to network activity. In the data products, the intended flow is that businesses pay holders for permissioned access to data those users control. Maximum supply is 50 billion.
Most data-ownership projects come from crypto-native teams. Jasmy is a Japanese corporate entity with Sony alumni in its leadership, selling into Japanese enterprises. It has announced work with Panasonic Advanced Technology on a Web3 IoT platform based on the Personal Data Locker, and a secure blockchain PC for call-center operator Transcosmos.
IOTA and IoTeX built purpose-designed base layers for machine data. Jasmy instead ran on Ethereum and then launched a rollup on an off-the-shelf stack, trading bespoke architecture for compatibility. Unlike DePIN networks such as Helium, which reward physical coverage, Jasmy rewards contributed data, reaching users through enterprise deployments.
The ERC-20 token inherits Ethereum's security. JasmyChain, as an Arbitrum Orbit rollup, settles to Ethereum in the standard rollup model, so its trust assumptions include the sequencer and bridge configuration its operator chose.
Token utility was thin for most of the project's history. The whitepaper's description is generic, and the gas-token role only arrived with the 2026 mainnet migration, so the link between usage and token demand is new and unproven at scale. New rollups carry the usual caveats around sequencing, upgrade keys and bridge control, and no decentralization schedule has been published. Partnership announcements drive attention, but a partnership does not automatically create token demand. Supply is very large in unit terms, and Japanese regulatory standing does not extend elsewhere.
Personal data control is one of the few blockchain use cases with clear non-financial demand, and Jasmy pursues it from inside an established corporate and regulatory environment rather than around it.
JASMY is listed on many international exchanges and on regulated Japanese exchanges, where it first traded. The ERC-20 version can be swapped on Ethereum decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap. Verify the contract address 0x7420b4b9a0110cdc71fb720908340c03f9bc03ec before swapping on chain.
The ERC-20 token can be held in any Ethereum-compatible wallet, including MetaMask or Trust Wallet, and in hardware wallets such as Ledger or Trezor. To use JASMY as gas, add JasmyChain to an EVM wallet and bridge tokens across, checking which chain your wallet is on before sending.
