QQQon is a tokenized wrapper that gives on-chain holders economic exposure to Invesco QQQ, the exchange-traded fund that tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index. It is not a blockchain, a protocol, or a startup with a founding team. It is a financial instrument issued by a special purpose vehicle, backed by real shares of the fund held with a regulated custodial broker-dealer, and represented as a transferable token.
The legal shape matters more here than any technical detail. Each Ondo tokenized stock is a structured note, a debt instrument issued by Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited whose value tracks the underlying security. Holding QQQon gives you a redemption claim against that issuer plus a security interest in the collateral behind it. It does not make you a shareholder of the fund or of any company in the index.
Official sources:
Invesco QQQ tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index, which covers the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The fund launched on March 10, 1999 and is sponsored by Invesco Capital Management LLC. The index is rebalanced quarterly and reconstituted annually.
For most of its life QQQ was structured as a unit investment trust, an older and comparatively rigid legal form. Shareholders approved a conversion, and the fund began trading as a conventional open-end exchange-traded fund on December 22, 2025, with its total expense ratio reduced from 0.20 percent to 0.18 percent, and with the ability to reinvest income and participate in securities lending.
QQQon references that fund. It does not modify it, and Invesco is not the issuer of the token.
Minting and redemption Eligible, verified users mint and redeem QQQon directly on the Ondo Stocks platform. Orders are denominated in USDon, a stablecoin backed one-to-one by dollars held in an Ondo Stocks brokerage account, and the platform atomically swaps USDC to USDon for a purchase and back again for a redemption. The stated minimum is one dollar, and fractional amounts are supported.
Backing Tokens are fully backed on a one-to-one basis by the corresponding underlying security held through a regulated custodial broker-dealer, together with cash in transit. The issuer must additionally maintain collateral above that full backing, so the position is overcollateralized rather than exactly matched.
Total return tracking QQQon is a total-return tracker, not a share replica. Dividends and distributions are reinvested into the referenced asset and reflected in the token, net of withholding tax. Because of that reinvestment, one token does not permanently correspond to one share. On Solana and BNB Chain, wallets that support scaled balances show the effect in the balance instead of the price; the economics are identical either way.
Trading windows The platform is generally open from Sunday evening through Friday evening in New York time, spanning pre-market, core, post-market, and overnight sessions, with the overnight session relying on an alternative trading system. Short pauses occur around session boundaries and dividend ex-dates, and a limited set of assets is enabled for weekend and holiday off-hours trading.
QQQon is a holding instrument, not a utility or governance token. There is no staking, no fee sharing, no protocol revenue, and no vote attached to it. Its uses are:
The design goal Ondo emphasizes is liquidity parity with the underlying market. Many earlier tokenized equity products recreated liquidity on-chain, producing thin books, wide spreads, and prices that drifted from the real security. QQQon is instead minted and redeemed against actual fund shares through a broker-dealer, so the primary market is tied to traditional exchange liquidity rather than to whatever depth happens to exist in an on-chain pool.
The second distinguishing element is the disclosure and collateral structure: a bankruptcy-remote issuer, a first-priority security interest held by an independent trust company, daily third-party attestations of holdings, and smart contract audits by Spearbit and Cyfrin.
Against holding QQQ in a brokerage account, the difference is ownership. A brokerage client is generally treated as a beneficial owner with voting rights, shareholder information rights, and direct dividend receipt. A QQQon holder has none of those; the claim is contractual, against a British Virgin Islands issuer, governed by Swiss law under the issuer's sales terms.
Against synthetic or oracle-priced equity derivatives, QQQon is asset-backed rather than collateral-margined, and its price comes from primary-market minting against real shares rather than from a funding-rate mechanism. Against tokenized treasury products, the risk profile is entirely different: QQQon carries full equity market risk in a concentrated technology-heavy index, not short-duration credit risk.
Tokenized equities have been attempted repeatedly and have mostly failed on the same problem: thin on-chain liquidity and prices that wander away from the real asset. QQQon is one of the clearer attempts to solve that by anchoring the primary market to broker-dealer execution and publishing a detailed, auditable collateral and default structure. Whether or not the category succeeds, it is a useful reference for what a serious tokenized wrapper looks like, including an honest statement of what the holder does not get.
The primary route is minting on the Ondo Stocks platform after onboarding and identity verification, available only to eligible non-United States users. Beyond that, the tokens are transferable outside the United States and may appear on secondary venues and decentralized exchanges across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, and HyperEVM. Secondary availability is not guaranteed by the issuer, and buying on a secondary market still leaves redemption conditional on eligibility and verification. Always check the contract address against the issuer's official documentation before trading.
QQQon uses standard token formats, so it can be held in any Ethereum-compatible or Solana-compatible non-custodial wallet, in a hardware wallet paired with compatible software, or with institutional custodians that support the asset, including BitGo, Fireblocks, Zodia, and Ledger.
Confirm the chain and the exact contract address before any transfer, since the same token exists on several networks at different addresses.
