An exchange symbol previously supplied prices for a different asset. That feed has been disabled. Historical charts may contain prices from that feed. Current prices are shown only when a verified source is available; price-change figures will return as enough clean history becomes available.
Hyperliquid perpetuals only. One snapshot every 5 minutes, up to 20 returned price levels per side. Liquidity beyond those levels is unknown. This is not a liquidation heatmap or a fill estimate.

Aura Finance is a yield and governance protocol built on top of Balancer, the decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol. It pools BAL deposits into a large protocol-owned veBAL position, then passes the boosted rewards and voting power on to its users: Balancer liquidity providers get higher BAL rewards without locking BAL themselves, and BAL holders get a liquid token (auraBAL) instead of non-transferable veBAL. AURA is the protocol's governance and incentive token, and locked AURA directs how Aura's veBAL votes, which gives it influence over where Balancer emissions flow.
The Aura documentation describes Aura as "a protocol built on top of the Balancer system to provide maximum incentives to Balancer liquidity providers and BAL stakers (into veBAL) through social aggregation of BAL deposits and Aura's native token."
Balancer uses a vote-escrow model: users lock an 80/20 BAL/WETH pool token to receive veBAL, which boosts their liquidity rewards and lets them vote on gauges that decide where BAL emissions go. Locking is long and veBAL cannot be transferred. Aura sits in the middle, locking BAL permanently at the maximum duration and issuing tokens that represent a share of the result.
The documentation does not name individual founders; it refers to "Aura contributors." Aura's GitHub organization includes a repository labelled as forked from Convex's platform code, which reflects that Aura applies the Convex model (built for Curve's veCRV) to Balancer.
The security page lists audits by PeckShield (April 2022), a Code4rena audit competition (May 2022) and Halborn (May to June 2022) ahead of launch, so the protocol went live in 2022. Later audits in 2023 covered the auraBAL compounder and sidechain contracts. Governance proposal AIP-68 later made vote locking available on Base.
For Balancer liquidity providers Users deposit their Balancer Pool Tokens (BPTs) into Aura instead of staking them directly in Balancer gauges. Because Aura holds a large veBAL balance, deposits receive a higher boost (Balancer's boost goes up to 2.5x) and earn AURA on top of BAL.
For BAL holders Users deposit the 80/20 BAL/WETH BPT and receive auraBAL at a 1:1 rate for veBAL. The deposit cannot be reversed inside Aura, but auraBAL can be traded back through a Balancer pool. Staked auraBAL earns Balancer protocol fees, a share of Aura's BAL fee, and AURA.
For AURA lockers AURA can be locked for 16 weeks as vlAURA. Lockers vote on Aura proposals and direct Aura's veBAL in Balancer gauge votes.
The fee page sets a total fee of 25% on BAL earned by LPs through Aura: 18% goes to auraBAL stakers (paid in BAL), 4% to AURA/ETH LPs (paid in auraBAL) and 0.5% to whoever calls the harvest function.
AURA is used for governance (Aura proposals, treasury decisions, Balancer Snapshot votes and Balancer gauge votes through vlAURA) and as the reward token that is minted alongside BAL for Aura depositors.
The pre-launch distribution in the docs allocates 50% to Balancer LP rewards, 10% to the auraBAL stableswap over four years, 17.5% to the treasury over four years, 10% to Aura contributors over two years, and smaller shares for liquidity bootstrapping, token holder bootstrapping, BAL treasury, veBAL bootstrapping and future incentives. The docs state there were no VC or seed investors. The table of allocations lists 1,980,000 AURA as 1.98% of supply, which implies a total supply of 100 million AURA; that is our reading of the published figures, not a separately stated cap.
Emissions are tied to BAL earned on Aura. The docs state that 3.9 AURA were emitted per BAL on day one, trending toward 1.4 AURA per BAL as supply grows.
Aura pools BAL from many users into a single protocol-owned veBAL position (the docs describe it as "substantial"), which gives vlAURA holders indirect control over Balancer gauge votes. That makes AURA a "metagovernance" token: its value is closely linked to the value of directing another protocol's emissions.
The closest comparison is Convex Finance, which does the same thing for Curve's veCRV. Aura is built on a fork of Convex's platform but targets Balancer instead of Curve. Other yield protocols such as Pendle tokenize yield rather than aggregate vote-escrowed governance power.
The security page lists audits by PeckShield, Code4rena, Halborn (three engagements) and Zellic, and describes a $1m critical bug bounty on Immunefi. Aura also adopted an incident response plan with Chainalysis through governance. Protocol parameters and gauge votes are executed through a Protocol Multisig, initially 7 signers with a 4 of 7 threshold, and the treasury uses a separate 4 of 7 multisig made mostly of community members without Aura affiliation. The docs describe full on-chain governance as a later goal.
Aura concentrates Balancer governance power from many depositors in one place, which shapes how liquidity and emissions move across Balancer pools. For Balancer users it removes the need to lock BAL, and for anyone following DeFi governance it is a clear example of the vote-escrow aggregator model.
AURA trades on decentralized exchanges on Ethereum, notably Balancer pools, and on some centralized exchanges. Check the official contract (Ethereum 0xc0c293ce456ff0ed870add98a0828dd4d2903dbf, Base and Gnosis Chain 0x1509706a6c66ca549ff0cb464de88231ddbe213b) before trading. Some exchanges list an unrelated token that also uses the AURA ticker, so confirm the contract or project name.

For decades, the concept of the "market maker" — or zhuangjia — has been shrouded in an almost mythical aura within China's capital markets. The binary narrative pitting retail investors against all-powerful manipulators has become so deeply embedded that it is treated as common knowledge. Yet common knowledge is often nothing more than a synonym for collective fallacy. In reality, there are no omnipotent puppet masters in the market. Those who have attempted to control stock prices through sheer capital force have, time and again, met with catastrophic failure. The true nature of the capital market is a multilayered game of predator and prey, where outcomes are determined not by labels or capital size, but by cognitive depth and strategic capability.
