Rain is a decentralized prediction market protocol on Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 rollup. Users create outcome-based markets on real-world or digital events, supply liquidity to them, and trade positions on each outcome. RAIN is the associated ERC-20 token, described in the project's regulatory whitepaper as a governance token rather than an access token. Rain also positions itself as infrastructure other builders can use for their own forecasting front-ends.

The issuer is the Rain Foundation, a Panamanian foundation registered on 14 July 2025. Its whitepaper names Lorena Del Carmen Diaz Moreira as founder, Ana Gabriela De Leon Macias as president and Rebeca Isabel Munoz Arosemena as secretary. The engineering and product team is not identified in official documentation, which is a meaningful transparency gap. The token was sold through a launchpad and admitted to trading in March 2025. In November 2025 Nasdaq-listed Enlivex Therapeutics announced a treasury strategy centred on RAIN.
A market creator defines an event and its outcomes. An automated market maker prices each outcome from the proportion of liquidity allocated to it, so prices behave like implied probabilities. Resolution happens two ways: the creator may resolve their own market, or, in certain public markets, an AI oracle framework the project calls Olympus AI decides, with disputes escalating to human oracles. Rain also supports incentive markets, where rewards attach to an outcome occurring rather than to forecasting it.
RAIN is intended for governance once the DAO is activated. The whitepaper is unusually direct about the limits: RAIN grants no ownership, profit or redemption rights, and is not required in order to trade, deposit or create markets. A share of trading fees buys back and burns tokens, though the documentation calls that discretionary. Total supply is 1.15 trillion, with presale, contributor, team, marketing, liquidity and reserve allocations released over roughly 6 to 24 months.
Market creation is permissionless, so tradable questions are not gated by a listing desk. Resolution leans on an automated oracle with a human dispute fallback rather than a manual reporting process, which targets fast settlement of short-horizon markets.
Earlier designs such as Augur and Gnosis built reporter-driven resolution on Ethereum mainnet, which is robust but slow and expensive. Rain runs on a layer-2 and automates resolution. Against venues that curate every market centrally, it shifts curation risk onto creators and the dispute process. Against perpetual venues, its contracts settle on discrete outcomes, not continuous price exposure.
RAIN is an ERC-20 token on Arbitrum, which uses optimistic rollups and anchors data to Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus. Contracts are Solidity and verified on Arbiscan, and the whitepaper states the token contract is non-upgradeable. It passed a Hacken audit. The project has said a protocol-level audit was still in progress and that upgrades and treasury actions run through a foundation-controlled multisignature.
Prediction markets convert opinion into priced probabilities, and demand for that signal has grown beyond crypto. Rain is one attempt to make the supply side permissionless so market creation is not a bottleneck. Whether it produces useful signal depends on liquidity depth and on resolution being seen as fair.
RAIN trades on decentralized exchanges on Arbitrum and on several centralized venues. The whitepaper names Kraken, KuCoin, MEXC, BingX, BitMart, WhiteBit, LBank, XT, Bitrue, BloFin and Gems Trade. Availability varies by region.
RAIN is an ERC-20 token on Arbitrum One, so any Arbitrum-compatible EVM wallet works. MetaMask or Rabby suit interacting with the protocol, while a hardware wallet is stronger for longer-term holdings. Always add the token using the verified contract address above, since a symbol alone is not a safe identifier.
