Hashflow is a multichain decentralized exchange that uses a request-for-quote (RFQ) model: professional market makers price trades off-chain and sign firm quotes that are then settled on-chain. HFT is its governance token, used to vote on the protocol and to earn a share of trading fees when staked. Hashflow matters because signed quotes give traders a guaranteed price with no slippage between quote and execution, and they protect against front-running and sandwich attacks that are common on automated market makers (AMMs).
Official resources include the Hashflow website, the trading app and the Hashflow documentation.
Hashflow was founded by Varun Kumar (CEO) and Victor Ionescu (CTO). The protocol launched in April 2021, and its backers include Coinbase Ventures, Dragonfly Capital and Galaxy Digital, among others.
The HFT token went live in November 2022, around the time it was offered through Binance Launchpool. Token distribution included rewards to early users and NFT holders from the "Hashverse", Hashflow's gamified governance world, and to traders through the "Rake the Rewards" program.
In June 2023 Hashflow suffered an exploit tied to token approvals on an older contract, with losses reported at around $600,000 in stablecoins. Users were advised to revoke approvals to the affected contract. Later, the DAO approved protocol fees, and Hashflow expanded its routing to more chains, including Solana.
On an AMM, the price comes from a formula applied to a liquidity pool. On Hashflow, the trader requests a quote, and market makers answer with prices calculated off-chain from their own data, such as prices on other venues, volatility and inventory. The best quote is signed by the market maker and submitted on-chain, where Hashflow's contracts verify the signature and settle the swap.
Because the quote is fixed and signed:
Hashflow describes its current design as intent-based smart order routing across RFQ liquidity. The platform operates on multiple chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Optimism, Polygon and Solana, and supports cross-chain swaps where both sides of a trade sit on different networks.
Fixed tokenomics from the documentation:
Hashflow applies the RFQ model used in traditional finance and at centralized trading desks directly to DeFi, with on-chain settlement. Its combination of zero slippage, MEV protection and support for cross-chain swaps without traditional wrapped-asset bridges sets it apart from pool-based DEXs.
Hashflow is an exchange protocol, not a blockchain. Compared with Uniswap, where anyone can supply liquidity to pools and prices follow a curve, Hashflow relies on a curated set of professional market makers. Aggregators like 1inch route across many sources, including RFQ makers; 0x and CoW Protocol also use off-chain order logic, with CoW focused on batch auctions and solvers. Hashflow's trade-off is better execution for common pairs in exchange for dependence on market maker participation and a narrower range of long-tail tokens than permissionless AMMs.
Trades settle on each host chain, so security depends on those networks and on Hashflow's smart contracts. Signed quotes mean the market maker cannot change the price after signing, and the contract only settles trades that match a valid signature. The 2023 approval exploit shows the main user-side risk: unlimited token approvals to older contracts. Hashflow runs a bug bounty program, and treasury funds are held in multi-signature wallets on Ethereum and Arbitrum.
Hashflow proved that RFQ trading could work on-chain at scale, giving DeFi users execution quality closer to a professional trading desk. As MEV remains a cost for AMM traders, signed-quote and intent-based designs like Hashflow's are an important part of how decentralized trading is evolving.

HFT is a standard ERC-20 (and BEP-20 on BNB Chain) token, so it can be held in MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet or a hardware wallet such as Ledger. To stake and receive fee rewards, connect your wallet to the Hashflow app's staking page.
