The D Line Extension seeks to extend the D Line (formerly known as the Purple Line) in Los Angeles to the Westside region, primarily along Wilshire Boulevard.
- The project is divided into three sections, and the final section is projected to open in 2027 (as of the end of 2024).
- This project is part of the "Twenty-Eight by '28" initiative to complete key transportation projects before the 2028 Summer Olympics.
- What will be the status of the project at the start of the Olympics?
- This question resolves to the latest phase that is fully open at the beginning of July 14, 2028 (the planned date of the opening ceremony; using local time at the venue), or "the named outcome" if none are fully open.
- "Fully open" means that the line extends at least as far west as the planned station site (as of the end of 2024) at the end of each section, with stations open to the general public to board and alight.
