MBG is the utility token of MultiBank Group, a regulated financial derivatives brokerage founded in 2005 and headquartered in Dubai. It is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum at contract address 0x45e02bc2875a2914c4f585bbf92a6f28bc07cb70, where a live contract read returns the on-chain name "$MBG Token".
MBG is not a blockchain, a protocol, or a DeFi application. It is an exchange and broker loyalty token: holding or staking it unlocks fee discounts, yield, and tier benefits across MultiBank's trading platforms, and a portion of the group's revenue is used to buy the token back on the open market and burn it. Its value proposition rests on a traditional finance business generating fees, not on on-chain activity.
That is the central thing to understand about MBG. Almost everything it does is a commercial policy set by a company, not a rule enforced by a smart contract. The company can change those policies.
Official sources:
MultiBank Group was founded in 2005 in Irvine, California by Naser Taher, who remains its chairman. The group relocated its headquarters to Dubai and expanded into a multi-entity brokerage operating across five continents.
The token itself is a recent addition. MultiBank Group ran an initial exchange offering and held the MBG token generation event in July 2025, with listings that included MEXC, Gate.io, the group's own exchange, and Uniswap. In late 2025 the company reported completing its first buyback and burn, permanently removing 4,860,000 MBG. In 2026 the group consolidated its crypto brand from MultiBank.io onto the shorter mb.io domain, and the older address now redirects there. Whitepaper version 1.3, dated January 2026, is published under the entity MBIO FZE.
MBG works as a demand and supply loop layered on top of a brokerage business, and the whitepaper describes three activation methods.
Holding for tier status A user's MBG balance places them in one of eleven reward tiers. Higher tiers carry larger maker and taker fee discounts on spot trading, with the whitepaper's published table running from no discount at the base tier up to roughly a quarter off maker fees at the top band. Perpetuals and CFD discounts are listed as planned rather than live.
Staking for yield Staked MBG is removed from circulation and earns a rate that scales with both lock duration and tier. The whitepaper publishes a fixed-rate schedule across terms from 30 days to 365 days, and a separate variable revenue-share model in which trading fees collected across the group's platforms are pooled, part is used to buy back and burn MBG, and the remainder funds staker rewards.
Paying fees in MBG Users can opt in to settle platform fees in MBG and receive an additional discount for doing so, which routes tokens back to the issuer.
The buyback and burn program is the supply side of the loop. The group commits a share of revenue to repurchasing MBG from the open market, and the whitepaper projects the program reaching 440.26 million dollars over its first five years. A live read of the contract shows a total supply below the one billion units originally issued, which is consistent with burns having taken place.
The whitepaper organizes the business into four pillars, and MBG is designed to span all of them:
Alongside these sit the staking product, the loyalty tier system, the buyback and burn mechanism, and a stated long-term plan to record trades on-chain for auditability.
The documented utilities, grouped by what they actually do:
The whitepaper is explicit that the published rate and tier tables are "based on market dynamics and subject to change," and several utilities are marked as not yet live. MBG does not carry governance rights over the company.
The regulatory footprint is the genuine differentiator. MultiBank Group states it operates under 18 financial regulatory licenses across five continents, and the whitepaper names them individually, including ASIC in Australia, CySEC in Cyprus, BaFin in Germany, MAS in Singapore, CIMA in the Cayman Islands, the BVI Financial Services Commission, and, for the digital asset entity MBIO FZE, Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority. The Australian crypto entity is registered with AUSTRAC as a digital currency exchange.
Most exchange tokens are issued by crypto-native companies. MBG is issued by an established, licensed derivatives broker with a two-decade operating history, and the burn is funded from that existing business rather than from token sales.
The RWA effort is the second distinguishing thread. In 2025 MultiBank Group signed a three billion dollar tokenization agreement with UAE real estate developer MAG Lifestyle Development and blockchain infrastructure partner Mavryk, aimed at bringing developments including branded Dubai residences on-chain.
Compared with exchange tokens issued by crypto-native venues, MBG's fee revenue base is broader, spanning forex, contracts for difference, metals, institutional flow, and crypto, rather than crypto trading alone. That diversification cuts both ways: it is less correlated with crypto volumes, and it is more exposed to conventional financial regulation.
Compared with DeFi tokens, MBG offers no on-chain protocol revenue and no governance. The token is a claim on a company's marketing and loyalty policy, backed by that company's commitment to buy and burn. Compared with pure RWA tokens, MBG is not itself an asset-backed instrument. It is a utility token issued by a group that also runs an RWA platform, which is a different thing from being backed by those assets.
At the token layer, MBG is a standard ERC-20 on Ethereum and inherits Ethereum's consensus security. There is no separate validator set, staking chain, or bridge dependency for the token contract itself.
The more consequential security question is custodial and institutional. Staking, fee settlement, and tier benefits run inside MultiBank's own platforms, so a staked balance is exposed to the operator, not to an audited on-chain protocol. What backstops that exposure is the regulatory oversight the group operates under, including client fund protection obligations attached to several of its licenses. Holders who keep tokens in a self-custodial wallet reduce operator risk but also forgo the platform-side benefits.
MBG is a clear example of a regulated traditional finance institution entering crypto through a token rather than only through a product listing. The interesting question it poses is whether an established brokerage's fee revenue can support a token economy more durably than a crypto-native venue's can, and whether tokenized real estate distributed through a licensed operator finds real demand. Those are open questions, and MBG is one of the more visible tests of them.
MBG trades on the group's own exchange, on several third-party centralized exchanges, and on Ethereum decentralized exchanges including Uniswap. Availability and pairs vary by jurisdiction.

Listing coverage changes, so confirm on the venue itself.
MBG can be held on an exchange under that exchange's custody, in a self-custodial Ethereum wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby, or behind a hardware wallet used with a compatible interface. Holders who want tier benefits or staking rewards generally need the tokens inside a MultiBank platform account, which is a custodial arrangement.
Confirm the contract address before adding the token manually. MBG is an Ethereum token only, and sending it to an address on another network can result in permanent loss.
