GameFi.org is a Web3 launchpad and gaming hub where users stake the GAFI token to qualify for early-stage token sales (IDOs), mainly for blockchain games and, more recently, AI and real-world asset projects. GAFI is the platform's staking and access token on BNB Chain. The project matters as one of the dedicated launch platforms that grew out of the 2021 play-to-earn wave and still runs tiered sales today.
Beyond the launchpad, GameFi.org operates a game directory, an in-game item marketplace, guild tools and related products.
The project's press kit gives August 2021 as its founding date. Its public description says GameFi.org is backed by Icetea Labs, an incubator, and DAO Maker, a launchpad, with investment from Animoca Brands and Morningstar Ventures. The pages reviewed here do not name individual founders.
Early positioning focused on play-to-earn games on BNB Chain and Polygon. Staking tiers on the staking page are named Rookie, Elite, Pro, Pro Max and Legend. Higher tiers require more staked GAFI (the page lists 100, 500 and 1,200 GAFI for Elite, Pro and Pro Max), come with larger individual allocations, and have longer withdrawal delays, from 5 days at Rookie up to 30 days at Legend. The entry-level Rookie tier is filled by lottery, Pro Max has guaranteed allocation, and the Legend tier requires an auction NFT and shares a guaranteed 20% of the pool.
GAFI is a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain at contract 0x89af13a10b32f1b2f8d1588f93027f69b6f4e27e with 18 decimals. An on-chain read of that contract returned a total supply of roughly 15 million GAFI; the project's full allocation and vesting schedule was not available on the pages reviewed.
GameFi.org is an application on BNB Chain, not a blockchain. Its closest peers are launchpads such as Seedify.fund, which also focuses on games, and general launchpads like DAO Maker and Polkastarter. Compared with a gaming guild such as Yield Guild Games, GameFi.org earns its role from hosting sales rather than from owning and lending in-game assets.
