Resolves as YES if Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A, BRK.B) spins off or sells one of their major businesses before 2028.
- The spun off business will be considered 'major' if the value of the spin off is over 25% of the market capitalization of the entire firm at the time of the spinoff.
- The value of the spun-off company will be determined by using the sale price (if purchased by a private company) or the median market capitalization of the firm during the first month on the market if the spinoff is public.
- If Berkshire distributes shares from their equity portfolio directly to shareholders, that will not qualify for this claim, even if the value of the distributed shares is greater than 25% of the market capitalization of Berkshire.
