X Empire (X) is the token of a Telegram tap-to-earn game, originally called Musk Empire, whose players earned in-game coins and then received X tokens in an airdrop on The Open Network (TON) on October 24, 2024. It matters as one of the large Telegram mini-app games of 2024 that converted tens of millions of casual players into on-chain token holders, alongside titles such as Notcoin, Hamster Kombat and Catizen.
X Empire is a game played inside Telegram. Players tap on a cartoon "Musk" character to earn in-game coins, upgrade the character, complete daily tasks, invite friends and use an investment simulator that mimics trading. The X token is a jetton (TON's fungible token standard) with the master address EQB4zZusHsbU2vVTPqjhlokIOoiZhEdCMT703CWEzhTOo__X, and it is the reward that players' in-game progress was converted into.
The developers of X Empire are not publicly named in the coverage we reviewed; Decrypt refers to them only as "the developers of X Empire." The documented timeline is:
Gameplay happens off-chain inside the Telegram mini app, and the X token lives on TON. At the airdrop, players could claim tokens to centralized exchanges, to the Telegram Wallet app, or on-chain to a self-custody wallet; Decrypt noted that exchange and Telegram Wallet withdrawals carried no fee, while the on-chain option required a network fee.
Gate Learn reports a total supply of 690 billion X, with 517.5 billion (75%) allocated to the community with no lock-up, and 172.5 billion (25%) reserved for "new users and the next project development phase." Our own on-chain read of the jetton master in September 2026 (an inference from the chain, not a project statement) showed a total supply of about 690 billion X with 9 decimals, and the jetton marked as mintable, meaning the contract still permits new tokens to be minted by its admin.
X was distributed as the reward for gameplay. Announced uses include access to exclusive Telegram apps for holders and partner airdrops to X holders, as reported by Decrypt. Beyond that, X is mainly held and traded; it does not have a documented governance or staking role.
Its theme set it apart: a satirical Elon Musk-style character and a simulated stock-exchange mechanic, rather than simple tapping alone. The team also planned a move from a single game to a set of lifestyle apps (news, languages, sleep) tied to the token.
X is a token, not a chain. Compared with its closest peers on TON:
X Empire's distinctive elements are its theme and investment simulator; its token model is broadly similar to these peers.
The token relies on TON's proof-of-stake validators and the standard jetton contract. The in-game economy, however, is run off-chain by the developers, so players depend on the team for fair tracking of progress. Because the jetton remains mintable per the on-chain read above, supply control rests with whoever holds the admin rights.
X Empire is part of the 2024 Telegram gaming wave that brought very large numbers of first-time users to TON. Its track record helps show how well, or how poorly, airdropped game tokens keep users once the tapping phase ends.
Decrypt reported that at launch players could claim X to OKX, Bybit and Bitget. X also trades on TON decentralized exchanges. Listings can change, so confirm availability on an exchange before depositing, and check the jetton address above.
X can be stored in any TON wallet that supports jettons, such as Tonkeeper or the Wallet app inside Telegram. For larger holdings, a self-custody wallet where you control the recovery phrase is the safer option.
