SynFutures is a decentralized derivatives protocol. Its core product is on-chain perpetual futures trading, where positions are opened with margin and leverage and settled entirely by smart contracts rather than by a custodial exchange. The distinguishing piece of engineering is the Oyster AMM, a market-making model that puts a concentrated-liquidity curve and a real limit order book inside a single on-chain contract.
F is the protocol's native token. It is an ERC-20 deployed on Ethereum at 0x6e15A54B5EcAc17e58daDedDbe8506a7560252F9, created on November 12, 2024, with 18 decimals and a total supply of 10,000,000,000 F. A direct read of the deployed contract shows no mint function, no burn function, no owner and no upgrade proxy, so that supply figure is fixed by the code rather than by policy. Bridged representations of F exist on other networks, including Base at 0x2c24497d4086490e7ead87cc12597fb50c2e6ed6.
Official sources:
SynFutures was co-founded by Rachel Lin, who serves as chief executive. Her background is in bank derivatives trading at Deutsche Bank and in co-founding Matrixport, a crypto financial services firm. The protocol has shipped in three generations: v1 introduced permissionless listing of any derivatives market with single-token liquidity, v2 simplified the trader and liquidity-provider experience, and v3 replaced the earlier synthetic AMM with the Oyster AMM.
The SynFutures Foundation and the F token were announced in late 2024, with a Season 1 airdrop of 7.5 percent of supply opening on December 6, 2024 and initial listings on several centralized venues in the same window.
Single-token concentrated liquidity A liquidity provider deposits one token as margin and picks the width of a price range rather than two explicit boundaries. The contract derives the lower and upper prices from the prevailing pool price, requiring each side to sit at least one initial-margin ratio away from it. Adding liquidity mints a long position into the pool inventory and an offsetting short into the provider's own account, so the market stays balanced without a two-sided deposit.
A fully on-chain order book Limit orders sit at discrete price points, are filled before curve liquidity at that price, and are irreversible once filled. Volume at a given price is allocated pro rata across the orders resting there. The whitepaper is explicit that this is a native order book rather than concentrated liquidity used as a proxy for one, and that matching happens on-chain rather than through an off-chain service.
Mark pricing and funding Four prices are tracked. The fair price is quoted by the combined curve and order book. The mark price drives unrealized profit and loss plus margin requirements. The spot price comes from oracles such as Chainlink or spot venues. A time-weighted settlement price closes dated futures. Perpetual markets charge continuous funding proportional to the gap between the fair price and the spot index, scaled to a daily cycle, which pushes the perpetual price back toward the index.
Liquidation by takeover When a position falls under its maintenance margin, a liquidator takes it over along with the remaining margin and tops that margin back up to the initial requirement.
The documentation and the launch announcement describe F as covering:
Published tokenomics divide the 10,000,000,000 supply into Community 28.5 percent (7.5 percent airdrop, 20.5 percent ecosystem, 0.5 percent liquidity campaigns), Foundation Treasury 25 percent, Backers and Advisors 23.5 percent, Core Contributors 15 percent, Protocol Development 5 percent and Liquidity 3 percent.
The single-model design is the real differentiator. Most perpetual venues either run an off-chain order book with on-chain settlement, or run a pure AMM. SynFutures argues that splitting a trade between an on-chain curve and an off-chain book breaks atomicity and creates execution uncertainty, so it matches against resting limit orders and curve liquidity inside one transaction. The permissionless listing inherited from v1 also survives, meaning a market can be created for any asset with a usable price feed rather than waiting for a listing committee.
Compared with peers, SynFutures sits between two camps. Order-book perpetual venues get tight pricing but usually depend on off-chain infrastructure and a curated asset list. Pure AMM derivatives protocols are permissionless but pay for it in slippage. Oyster AMM tries to hold both properties at once, and pairs them with derivative-specific machinery that spot concentrated-liquidity designs do not need: margin checked at both range boundaries, a dynamic penalty fee when trade prices deviate far from the mark, and an exponential-moving-average mark price intended to blunt flash-loan manipulation and liquidation cascades.
Security rests on the contracts themselves, since matching, margin accounting and liquidation all execute on-chain. The mark price is deliberately separated from the fair price so that a trader cannot move the number used for risk management simply by trading against the pool, and dated settlement uses oracle time-weighted averages. Liquidation depends on third-party liquidators being economically motivated to act promptly. The F token contract itself carries the smallest practical attack surface: no privileged role can mint, pause or seize balances.
SynFutures is one of the clearer attempts to answer a question DeFi derivatives have circled for years: whether an order book can live fully on-chain without giving up capital efficiency. Its extension into tokenized equities and ETFs also places it in the small group of on-chain venues trying to serve one user for both crypto and traditional exposure.
F trades on centralized exchanges and on decentralized venues. Availability and pairs vary by jurisdiction. The token exists natively on Ethereum with bridged copies elsewhere, so confirm the network before depositing or withdrawing.
Listings announced around launch included:
Pairs are commonly quoted against USDT where supported.
Always confirm the token contract address and the correct network before sending funds.
