What Is Vision (VSN)?

Vision is the ecosystem token created by merging two earlier Bitpanda linked tokens: BEST, the Bitpanda Ecosystem Token, and PAN, from the Pantos cross chain project. Holders exchanged their balances for VSN in an offer that opened on 9 July 2025. VSN is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, also native on Arbitrum, built as the staking, governance and gas asset for Vision Chain, an Ethereum layer 2. The issuer is the VISION web3 Foundation in Zug, Switzerland.

Who Founded Vision? (History)

Vision has no founder in the startup sense; it is a corporate consolidation. The white paper names Bitpanda GmbH of Vienna as offeror and states it "was founded in Vienna, Austria, by Eric Demuth, Paul Klanschek and Christian Trummer." The VISION web3 Foundation, registered on 7 March 2025 and chaired by Vishal Sacheendran, is the issuer. Conversion rates were fixed at 1 BEST to 4.91 VSN and 1 PAN to 0.89 VSN, from each token's average daily close over the 30 days ending 25 March 2025. The BEST and PAN collected are burned.

How Vision Works

VSN began as an upgradeable ERC-20 contract on Ethereum with an initial mint of 4.2 billion tokens, and it moves across chains through Chainlink's CCIP.

Vision Chain is an OP Stack Ethereum layer 2, using Ethereum layer 1 for data availability and settlement. Instead of the standard optimistic fault proof system it uses a validity proof approach based on op-succinct and the SP1 zero knowledge virtual machine. The stack adds a compliance module screening at the bridge and the sequencer, so flagged transactions can be blocked before execution. Gas runs through a paymaster: eligible users pay in VSN while the paymaster settles the fee in ETH.

VSN Token Utility

The white paper lists three functionalities and grants nothing beyond them: staking through the VSN dApp under an emission based model, voting on onchain parameters such as burn rates, and paying gas on Vision Chain through the paymaster. Governance covers protocol parameters, not the Foundation. Supply is not capped: rewards are minted at an annual rate that targeted roughly 5 percent in year one, which a vote concluded on 18 May 2026 cut to about 2.5 percent. Quarterly burns remove tokens, and 10 percent of net sequencer revenue funds open market purchases.

What Makes Vision Unique?

It is issued under a MiCA compliant white paper, with Bitpanda GmbH licensed as a crypto asset service provider in the EU, and the chain embeds compliance screening at the protocol edge. Rather than launch a new token, the sponsors retired two existing ones at pre committed rates.

How Vision Differs from Similar Projects

Most exchange affiliated tokens are fee discount and loyalty instruments. Vision is positioned as a chain asset first, with staking, parameter governance and gas payment on a rollup the issuer helps operate. Sequencer screening is a real difference from general purpose OP Stack chains.

Use Cases of Vision

Practical uses include staking for protocol emitted rewards, voting on emission and burn parameters, paying gas on Vision Chain where the paymaster supports it, and holding the asset inside Bitpanda's loyalty programs.

How Vision Is Secured

As an ERC-20 token, VSN inherits Ethereum proof of stake security. Vision Chain runs no consensus of its own: the sequencer orders and executes transactions, batch data is posted to Ethereum, and state transitions are enforced by the validity proof system. Transactions get an initial sequencer confirmation and are final once the batch settles on Ethereum.

Risks and Considerations

VSN has no supply cap and can be minted indefinitely, with emission and burn rates set by governance, and the token contract is upgradeable. The buyback creates no contractual right for holders. Much of the value proposition depends on Vision Chain, whose own page has noted documentation pending external audits, so execution risk remains. Sequencer screening is a compliance feature but also a censorship capability, and the project depends on one commercial sponsor.

Why Vision Matters

Vision is one of the clearer examples of a European exchange building regulated onchain infrastructure rather than only listing assets, and its white paper discloses conversion mechanics, emission rates and revenue routing unusually precisely.

Where Can You Buy Vision (VSN)?

The white paper states admission to trading was obtained on Kraken, followed by other centralized and decentralized venues. Because VSN exists on several networks, confirm the contract address and chain before trading.

Storage Options After Purchase

VSN is a standard ERC-20 asset, so any Ethereum compatible wallet holds it, including MetaMask and hardware wallets used through it. Vision Wallet is the intended route for staking and gas features. When moving between networks, use the supported bridge rather than sending tokens directly.
