I intend to resolve this question only with overwhelming evidence.
- After a brief google search, I've only seen comments by cat owners where, based on their story, they couldn't be 99.99% sure that the cat was really asleep while farting.
- Moreover, I don't care if one cat in the universe farted while sleeping once; it must be common enough to say "cats fart asleep".
- Say, >20% of cats must do it at least once per year, although I am not giving these thresholds as resolution criteria, but only as an indicative example: I will try to resolve according to the spirit of the question.
