Google launched Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, 2026 for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app (plus the paid API, AI Studio and Antigravity).
- Free users got nothing: on October 9 Google had just moved the free plan to an Auto model that mostly routes to Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite.
- Resolves YES if, before November 15, 2026 11:59 PM Pacific, Google officially states that users on the free Gemini app plan (no paid subscription, no trial) can use Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app, in any amount, including a small daily or weekly prompt limit.
- Counts as official: blog.google, the Gemini app release notes (gemini.google/release-notes), support.google.com Gemini help pages, or an official Google / Gemini account on X. Does NOT count:
- Free-trial offers for paid plans
