The standard OP Stack predeploys at 0x4200...000F, 0x4200...0015 and 0x4200...0016 all returned empty code, so despite listings describing KONET as an OP Stack Layer 2, this chain is not one. Its own GitHub organization, kon-mainnet, hosts forks of openethereum and posdao-contracts, which matches what the chain reports. Across 200 consecutive blocks, exactly four distinct block authors appeared, and the explorer statistics endpoint reported an average block time near 50 seconds with network utilization close to one percent.
KONET is the native coin of the chain, so it pays gas and underpins validator and RVN collateral. The whitepaper states a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 KONET, with up to 800,000,000 of that assigned to the Merge Pool, plus an Ecosystem Activation Fund and a validating pool among the smaller allocations.
