Resolves YES if there is strong evidence that Canada has at least 1 gigawatt (GW) of operational space-to-ground power-transmission capacity before January 1st 2046.
- “Space-to-ground power transmission” means systems that generate or collect energy in space and wirelessly transmit it to receiving infrastructure located in Canada, where it is converted into usable electrical power.
- Eligible technologies may include microwave, laser, or other wireless power-transmission methods.
- The 1 GW threshold refers to aggregate nameplate electrical-output capacity deliverable at the Canadian receiving stations after conversion from the transmitted signal.
- Multiple systems may be added together, provided they are operational and capable of supplying power concurrently.
- Experimental demonstrations, announced projects, facilities under construction, and systems that have not entered operation do not count.
