- The 2026-27 MVP will be determined by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, with each member casting a vote for first to fifth place selections.
- The winner is the player with the highest cumulative points from these votes.
- To be eligible, players must appear in at least 65 games, with credit requiring at least 20 minutes played per game, though two appearances of 15-19 minutes can count toward the 65-game minimum.
- Resolution will be based on the official NBA MVP announcement following the 2026-27 regular season.
