Worldcoin is a cryptocurrency project designed to provide universal basic income (UBI) through its native token, WLD.
- By verifying users' identities through iris scans, the system aims to distribute WLD tokens to participants regularly.
- However, the project’s success and the value of its payouts depend on several factors, such as global adoption, regulatory approval, and the fluctuating value of WLD in the cryptocurrency market.
- This market asks whether the monthly payout from Worldcoin (in WLD) will exceed Brazil’s current minimum wage.
- As of 2024, Brazil’s minimum wage is approximately R$1,412 (around USD $250).
- The outcome is uncertain due to the speculative nature of cryptocurrency, the potential appreciation of the WLD token, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
